'Rolling Stone' Magazine, Ideas.

'Rolling Stones' Background Information...

This is a Rolling Stone magazine, it is a major magazine in the U.S and appeals to a mass audience. It is devoted to  music, liberal politics and popular culture, and is published every two weeks. It was founded in San Francisco in 1967 by Jann Wenner, who is still editor and publisher. In the 1970's it was known for its political coverage, but then changed its format in the 1990's to appeal to younger readers, often focusing on young television or film actors and pop music. However this led to a lot of criticism so in recent years it has altered to involving in depth information about politics etc. therefore appealing to a mass audience.

Why I uploaded this to my blog..

I chose to upload this to my blog because this is the type of magazine I would like to create. I want to make a magazine involving 'popular culture' and things like politics just like Rolling Stone, purely because I want it to appeal to a mass audience. Apart from the politics and popular culture, there are other things I'd take from this magazine and use in mine, for e.g. having a good looking boy/girl on the front cover and having an eye catching masthead that people will notice straight away in the shop.

QUESTIONNAIRE

I created a questionnaire based on what people would like the school magazine to look like and what they would like to be in the magazine. I have 7 questions in my questionnaire and got 10 people to answer it , I got a lot of good feedback so I am able to create my magazine to the standard people want it to be. I went with the variety of the votes, this is what people said...
- 8 of out 10 people said the house colours of the magazine should be the school colours
- 6 out of 10 people said there should be different sections in the magazine for the school houses
- 8 out of 10 people said the educational side of the magazine should be formal but the rest should be informal
- 7 out of 10 people said it should discuss interesting matters outside of school
- 9 out of 10 people said it should be for all age groups
- 6 out of 10 people said it should have a slight educational side to it
- 9 out of 10 people said pupils shouldnt have to pay for it as no one would buy it
This has helped me with what I'm going to do in the magazine as I know what people like and dont like, so it would have an overall effect on the amount of people that read the magazine
